ABOUT
FIN/SUM is a conference on fintech, co-hosted by Nikkei, Inc. and the Financial Services Agency, and one of the largest of its kind in Japan. Since it was launched in 2016, it has been widely recognized as a platform where leaders from
financial and other businesses, governments, academia and startups engage in active debate about financial policy and fintech’s potentials and collaborate for the creation of new business opportunities.
As the COVID-19 pandemic rages around the world, our economy and society are met with the need to review our conventional customs and common sense to build a new normal. FIN/SUM will seek to contribute to solving various social issues and
developing the global economy by furthering our networking developed so far.
FIN/SUM 2019 DIGEST
(Sept 3-6, 2019)
The last FIN/SUM was held in Marunouchi, Tokyo, with the theme of " In search of new sources of growth". Over a four-day period, about 80 sessions and more than 200 speakers gave lectures, panel discussions, and startup pitches. Not only Deputy Prime Minister Aso and Commissioner of Financial Services Agency Endo, but also BOJ Governor Kuroda took the stage for the first time. During the event President Kitao of SBI Holdings, said in his speech that SBI "will realize the fourth megabank with regional financial institutions" for the first time. Measures to prevent coronavirus infection
The upcoming event will adopt a hybrid style combining on-site and online sessions, to cope with the risks related to COVID-19 infection.
