ABOUT
FIN/SUM2024’s theme will be “Building a Bright Future: Fintech for Happy Growth."
"Fintech," which refers to the integration of finance and technology, has sparked innovations across various sectors, including cashless payments, remittance services, asset management, lending and financing, insurance, and accounting. Not only traditional financial institutions, but also non-financial entities like IT companies, distribution and retail businesses, and startups are venturing into the realm of new financial services.}
Furthermore, a new Fintech trend is emerging in Japan, aiming to revitalize the long-stagnant Japanese economy. Efforts are being made to establish an ecosystem that supports startups through funds specifically designed to foster the growth of unlisted companies (unicorns) in Japan.
In response to the government's "Asset Income Doubling Plan," individuals and the financial industry are increasingly focusing on asset management. The goal is to transform Japan into an investment-oriented nation, where the culture of growing wealth serves as a driving force for the economy. However, it is crucial to strike a balance between pursuing economic value and ensuring the well-being of people. This involves addressing social disparities, environmental issues like climate change and decarbonization, biodiversity, and human rights concerns. The technologies that underpin Fintech, such as AI, blockchain, and big data analysis, should be effectively harnessed to tackle these challenges.
The objective is to generate, safeguard, and utilize wealth while promoting happiness among people. With this vision in mind, FIN/SUM2024 will commence with the theme of "Building a Bright Future: Fintech for Happy Growth."
